International Pillow Fight Day Was Awesome

For five glorious years, thousands of pillow-wielding New Yorkers have descended on Central Park to clobber every man, woman and child in their sight with these fluffy instruments of destruction in honor of International Pillow Fight Day. And holy weekend was no exception. On Saturday at approximately 3 p.m., thousands of pillow fighters started knocking the living hell out of everyone in their path. The event was just one of about 150 pillow fighting flash mobs that happened around the world this weekend. While some were mindful of obvious height differences and age gaps, others took no prisoners and seized the day as the perfect opportunity to pick on small children and beat up old people. Happy Easter?

One man even told AOL News that he had snatched a pillow from a little girl. Hey, a man needs to protect himself right? As people hurled, swung, brandished and every other synonym for beatdowns via pillow, it became clear that some people took this way more seriously than others. Take for instance the dude dressed as a pillow. In hindsight, probably not the best idea he’s had, as received one of the more epic beatings of the day.

I’m still trying to figure out what the point of this is (if it has one), but either way for the people who showed up and shelled out a few bucks for a pillow at K-Mart or snatched one off their bed, it wasn’t a terrible way to spend a Saturday afternoon.
