Sewers Are Cool in Japan

Who knew sewers could be this awesome? The more than $2 billion Metropolitan Area Outer Underground Discharge Channel (or G-Cans Project), was built to prevent Tokyo’s waterways from flooding during typhoon season. Is it me or does this look pretty freakin awesome considering it’s a sewer system? Rather than the dark and drab waterways that we have in the United States, Japan really decided to run with the uber-sci-fi, crazy geometric theme. See more photos after the jump.
