All-White Basketball League Kicking off This Summer

This is about the most ignorant, racist thing that I’ve seen in…well, since like last week. A new professional basketball league, creatively calling itself the All-American Basketball Alliance released a statement Sunday stating that it would start its inaugural season this June. The catch with the AABA: all athletes must be “natural born United States citizens with both parents of Caucasian race (to be) eligible to play in the league.”

But don’t get it twisted, this isn’t racist at all, according to the league’s commission Don “Moose” Lewis. Moose says that he merely wants to bring basketball back to its roots and not continue to support the “street-ball” played by minority athletes. Sure, excluding an entire group of people and insulting them in the process, is totally NOT racist. Peep more of what this jerk had to say after the jump.

“There’s nothing hatred about what we’re doing,” he said. “I don’t hate anyone of color. But people of white, American-born citizens are in the minority now. Here’s a league for white players to play fundamental basketball, which they like.” [...]

“Would you want to go to the game and worry about a player flipping you off or attacking you in the stands or grabbing their crotch?” he said. “That’s the culture today, and in a free country we should have the right to move ourselves in a better direction.”

I’ll agree with that. Moose isn’t a racist. Moose isn’t a racist because that would be too kind of a description for his level of utter stupidity, ignorance, and general a$$-holishness. Plus, who the hell is going to take a guy named Moose as a standup, friend to all, pillar of the community.
