The Vatican Loves Them Some Tupac
Who would have thought it? Nearly 11 years after Tupac was murdered on the Las Vegas Strip, he is now getting musical recognition from on high. Well not really, but it’s close enough, as the Vatican puts Tupac’s “Changes” on their MySpace Music Playlist. Find out more after the jump.
As part of their MySpace Music Playlist, the Vatican has selected “Changes” as one of their “12 Favorite Songs.” This marks the first time that the Vatican has ever recognized an American musician. The distinction places “Changes” among other Vatican-approved selections as “After The Rain,” by Shirley Bassey and Mozart’s “Don Giovanni.”
The Vatican had this to say about their playlist picks:
“The genres are very different from each other, but all these artists share the aim to reach the heart of good minded people.”
I couldn’t agree more. “Changes” is by far one of the greatest hip hop songs and one of Tupac’s best.
