Italian Advocacy Group Asks MTV To Cancel "Jersey Shore"

Guidos aren’t just focusing on their “new f*cking haircut” anymore. As if the YouTube sensation wasn’t bad enough, MTV decided to cash in on the hair-gelled, fist-pumping phenomenon in its new show Jersey Shore, much to the dismay of UNICO National, an Italian-American organization. The group has asked MTV to cancel the show set to debut Dec. 3rd because of its reliance on stereotypes and its inaccurate portrayal of Italian-Americans reports the Associated Press.

But MTV responded to the group’s charges of using stereotypes by saying that it has always tried to show the subcultures and that the Jersey Shore’s cast members showed a lot of cultural pride.

Check out the promo for the show, after the jump.

  1. Kevin says:

Well if the Guidos stopped acting like inbred retards…

  2. So UNICO National is pissed about this show but The Sopranos and movies like Goodfellas and the Godfather are okay? Pick a lane jackasses.
