Kanye West Thinks He's The New King Of Pop!
I should have known this was coming. Kanye West has declared that he’s the fortified new King of Pop now that Michael Jackson’s kick the bucket. He’s even asked the Jackson clan for their blessing!

Ace Showbiz reports Kanye has said:
You know everyone loves and respects Michael but times change. It’s so sad to see Michael gone but it makes a path for a new King of Pop and I’m willing to take that on,” so he told Scrape TV.
On what makes him deserve the title, Kanye said, “There’s nobody who can match me in sales and in respect so it only makes sense for me to take over Michael’s crown and become the new King.” The rapper then added, “First there was Elvis [Presley], then there was Michael, now in the 21st century it’s Kanye’s time to rule. I have nothing but respect for Michael but someone needs to pick up where he left off and there’s nobody better than me to do that. I am the new King of Pop.”
Furthermore, Kanye reportedly has reached out to the Jackson family to obtain official permission to use the title but so far received no response from them. It is believed that the family is still mourning over Michael’s death.
I am not even sure what to think about this. I mean, sure he’s a great artist, but are you allowed to crown yourself the King Of Pop? Isn’t someone else supposed to bestow a title like that upon you? I mean, in the very least shouldn’t he have had his people release a press release of a symbol and then explain that it means he’s the new King of Pop and have people ask less question? It worked for Prince, that’s all I’m saying!
Just as Elvis will always be known as the “king of rock n roll”, Michael Jackson will always be known as “the king of pop”..there is no other replacement, there is no crown to relinquish because it belongs to Michael Jackson.
Nobody came in said “I’m the new kind of Rock n Roll”…you can’t come in and say “i’m the new king of pop and I deserve that crown”…it’s very disrespectful…..there will never be a “new” king of pop as Michael Jackson will forever be known as “The King of Pop” That title will only belong to him.

however, your commentary is idiotic. you don’t believe someone can crown themselves the king of pop? that’s hilarious. michael jackson crowned HIMSELF the king of pop. it was not bestowed upon him, everyone just flat out agreed. hence why people say he is the “self proclaimed” king of pop. ahahahahahahahhahahahahahah
Kanye has had a few good hits but it’s way too early for this self-promotion; although, this may be just a bad case of fame going to someone’s head. Not to denounce ones creative talent, but how many other artists has he sampled from? Does he have as broad a fan base? Musically, has he tried as many “risks”? Length of career? Any famous dance moves? Same level of international star power? I haven’t seen any other artist with MJ’s talent/appeal since… MJ! However, what I can say about Kanye is that I think when he puts his name on something (creative talent), it’s really his, unlike 99% of other so-called artists out there, which is probably why he gets so much respect in this industry.
Kanye, You will never be the King of anything, that title only goes to two- Elvis, and his once son in law Michael Jackson. PERIOD! You don’t have a drop of the talent that these two had!! MJ and Elvis were always on top, attracted billions around the world, had people faint and cry for them, I could go on and on and ON. You are just an artist, and a big headed conceited one, at that. Get over YOUSELF. You ain’t all THAT!!
