How Many People Are on the Internet?
A lot! New Scientist made a great infographic that shows how many people are online, in which countries, and what they’re looking at.
Do you know which country has the most internet users? Sadly, America has lost the crown, which means that you need to get out and tell all your friends to get on the internet. If they resist, do not hesitate to show them videos of cats doing people activities, which comprise roughly a third of the internet. Map-graph thing plus answers to hard question, after the jump… Number one for internet use is China, which has 253 million; however, this is only 19% of the Chinese population. There are so godd*man many people there! The United States of America has 220 million users, or 72.5% of our population. Who are the 27.5% not online? This group includes centenarians, Canadians posing as Americans, and infants with underdeveloped networking skills, but mostly this number is due to the Amish.
Also, 210 billion emails sent every day in 2008. 78% spam! This translates to 80 billion free vacations and 120 billion bigger c*cks.
Finally, not found on the graph is the total number of people online worldwide. I calculated: 1.5 billion. Click through twice for the full-size version.
