Michael Phelps Wins at U.S. National Championships and at Blazing Huge Sandwiches
Three wins for Michael Phelps in the last few days. First, yesterday he won the 200m freestyle and the 200m butterfly at the U.S. National Championships, qualifying him for the World Championships in Rome. His fly time fell short of the record he set at the Olympics, however,
“I’m not happy about the 200 fly, but I think some of the things that happened are going to be helpful to me to swim faster,” he said. “When I’m satisfied is when I’m doing a best time.
Nonetheless, in a show of good sportsmanship, he climbed out of the pool, produced a giant spliff from behind his ear, and went to his VIP mahogany-paneled locker room to join the harem of Asian strippers waiting for him there. His third win came from Subway, for whom he filmed a new commercial…
Subway had almost dropped Phelps when that picture of him pulling a very fresh buzz out of a marijuana-smoking machine got on the internet. But then they presumably hired new ad people who were like, dude, the primary customer base for a $5 forearm-sized sandwich is *whisper voice* high people. So they 180′ed!
“Dive in with Michael Phelps,” says the new Subway Fresh Buzz website. ”Enjoy Phlavor Tips, exclusive pictures, video, and downloads of the man behind the marinara.” Michael Phelps loves that marinara!! And of course, the “Be Yourself” commercial:
