Will Be Huge: Infinity 2008

guru josh dj klaas infinity 2008 will be huge

“Will Be Huge” is a feature in which I tell you which songs and artists will be huge.

This one will be huge any day now; it’s already big.  A DJ Klaas remix of the wacky 1989 Guru Josh club hit “Infinity,” this song is the recipe for how to make techno music: crushing bass line that builds, falls off, and then drops again, right out of a Bacardi commercial; ridiculous nonsense vocal dubs (“Here’s my key/philosophy/A freak like me/just needs infinity”); and a video with a beautiful woman destroying things.

The Europeans love this song: it was released there last September and has reached number one on the French, Belgian, and Danish charts.  And here in America, I’ve heard in twice in passing cars.  My friend Pat also likes it.  Huge, I say.

But really, over the weekend it reached number one on the Billboard Hot Dance Airplay Chart, knocking off “Poker Face.”  And the video has 52 million views on YouTube.  Vid, ATJ.

Time goes by/so naturally/while you receive/ infinityyyyy.

Bonus video: the new single from Darren Bailie of the Guru Josh Project.  It is a techno song that samples the Braveheart theme.  Why not?
