So What Is the "Girlfriend Experience," Anyway?

When I told you how to hire a prostitute an hour ago, I mentioned in passing that the “girlfriend experience,” or GFE, means a coupling involving sex.  It does, but there’s more to it than that.  And now with the movie The Girlfriend Experience out and everyone running their mouths about it, you’ve been doing a lot of smiling and nodding and fronting about how you get like three girlfriend experiences every weekend.  But do you really know what it is?  REVEALED, ATJ:

Usually abbreviated GFE, the girlfriend experience happens when a man loves a woman and the woman pretends to love the man in return for $2,000 an hour.  Ah, but there’s more to it than that, even still.  While most people who think and talk about such things a lot acknowledge that there is no ironclad definition of the GFE, it is typically a session with a prostitute that ideally includes:

•  No rush, no “clock-watching” on the part of either party.  The session ends when the time period ends, not when the sex ends.
• Conversation, a convincing charade of emotional intimacy.
• Physical intimacy that is unforced and mutually enjoyable.
• Stroking, cuddling, mutual foreplay.
• Mutual, often unprotected, oral sex – abbreviated “BBBJ” (“bareback blowjob”) for men, “DTY” (“dining at the Y” – I don’t know how the one came to mean the other, either) for women.
• Kissing… on the mouth!!!  (But don’t forget that with most prostitutes, you’re not allowed to kiss on the mouth.)  This is sometimes advertised as “DFK” – “deep French-kissing.”  (Sex people absolutely love acronyms.)
• Sometimes means “anything goes.”

Here’s one pithy way of describing it:

It is the opposite of the women being treated like a sex toy and the man an ATM machine.

It costs more, but as the movie indicates, it’s especially popular with very rich men who have no time for feelings-style relationships in their lives.
