Two high school students in Houston, Texas set out to do something awesome, to list the top 50 most ghetto names. This viral has been making the rounds on the internet, they’ve already had over a million hits! But they’re taking a lot of heat as some people are saying it’s racist. What do you think? Is it racism or just some high school kids having fun?

This is racist and not particularly funny. It would have been funnier if they had used more actual ghetto names and left the watermelon and fried chicken out of it.

It’s tasteless, as opposed to what…other thought provoking top ghetto names’ videos? It’s supposed to be comedic, I wasn’t aware comedy had taste. Either you find it funny or you don’t but that’s the thing with comedy, it doesn’t make everyone laugh.

i really dont think that it was racist, they’re inly saying ghetto names. and that forsure is ghetto. & they’re not even saying nothing against black people. they didnt say NIGGA-NISHA, or something that would be racist.
I found this video racist, for the reasons titling it “the blackest names.” I would have found this funny, if they didnt try to associate black people with watermelons fried chicken, & low class. I think a lot of my culture and i have had bad racist situations in my life, so maybe I’m a little more unaccepting to racist jokes. Of course MOST people from other races won’t find this racist at all, and they’ll claim blacks just try to use the race card on everything. But im not going to go out on a hunt to stop people from being so prejudice, how people feel is how they feel. And in my opinion this video, jokes, and a lot of other things help put negative views on black people.

Watermelons, chicken AND low class? Where did they say anything about low class? So they make fun of a few stereotypes. Big freaking deal. There are so many jokes made about ALL races. You have to admit that some names out there are a little over the top and they just exaggerated that. This didn’t make me view African Americans in a negative light. Because it’s a JOKE. People need to learn to laugh at themselves and their own cultures instead of getting offended all the damn time. I’m not gonna cry if I see the top 60 hillbilly names of all time and they say something about Nascar…Just sayin. Yes we know all black people don’t eat fried chicken or watermelon and drink “grape drink” whatever that is. It’s a joke so LOL a little, ok?
And another thing…the funny part isn’t all of the race stuff. It’s the #1 name that makes it so hilarious.
