First There Was Crank & Now There's Gamer

As a super fan of the Crank franchise I’m totally on board when it comes to the next project from it’s writer/director duo Mark Neveldine and Brian Taylor.  One of the things I really liked about the Crank films was it’s level of video game integration into the plot of the films.  They do it really well and keep it in the context of the script, but now I’m even more excited because in Gamer, their new film starring ultimate badass Gerard Butler, they directly take on gaming.

Click to hear more about the film and see the trailer>>>Essentially, Gamer is Running Man, Tron & Death Race all rolled up into one.  Set sometime in the future, a technology has been developed that allows for the ability for human beings to control other people on a massive scale, multi-player gaming environment.  In this game, the best player Kable (Butler) looks for a way to beat the game and escape from enslavement.  Thankfully, Neveldine and Taylor do not take themselves too seriously so I’m guessing the film will be entertaining, but hilariously awesome.  Check out the video and tell us the impression that you get from it in the comments.
