In Saudi Arabian Pageants, Girls Bare All Their Morals

In Saudi Arabia, men prefer not to look at beautiful women and bikinis are strongly denounced as Jewish.  So the country does pageants a little differently, with the new Miss Beautiful Morals competition:

“The idea of the pageant is to measure the contestants’ commitment to Islamic morals… It’s an alternative to the calls for decadence in the other beauty contests that only take into account a woman’s body and looks,” said pageant founder Khadra al-Mubarak.

“The winner won’t necessarily be pretty,” she added. “We care about the beauty of the soul and the morals.”

Haha!  What fun!

Since the pageant is not televised and no men are involved, contestants can take off the veils and black figure-hiding abayas they always wear in public.

To be a fly on the wall!

Entrants are judged on such qualities as inner strength, devotion to parents, and ability to bring male children into the world.

Watch for the upcoming pageant scandal, in which one contestant comes under fire for saying that gay people should be allowed to not get stoned to death.
