Bulls-Celtics, Game 6, 128-127 Chicago in Triple Overtime

bulls-celtics-game-6

There was something to it when I called this series nuts two days ago.  Game 6 eclipsed all the previous five in sheer on-court improbability.  The Celtics plowed over a 10-point deficit with an 18-point run with minutes left on the clock.  Ray Allen made a postseason-record-tying nine 3-pointers and 51 points.  The number of clutch downtown shots and headbanging misses in this game, in this series, is almost uncountable.  Bill Simmons nails it:

Think of all the crap we deal with as fans. “Bulls-Celtics 2009″ explains why we put up with every story about Clemens and Bonds and Michael Vick and Terrell Owens and everyone else who conspires to make sports less fun.

His essay about Celtics, Bulls, dogs, and the true meaning of sports here.

The recap here.

Game 7 tomorrow night at 8 Eastern on TNT.
