Met's Lose First Game in New Stadium

In a game of ill-mishaps for the Met’s season, they lose their second consecutive game in a new stadium, Citi Field. The last one came almost five decades ago. This one stung, really bad.

Citi Field will not be broken in and feel like home for sometime, for Met’s players and fans, and that was none more evident, than in the Met’s pitching staff performance. The leather in Citi’s glove actually tightened last night, instead of welcoming a new era.

Mike Pelfrey giving up a lead off home run (1st in MLB history at a new stadium) & four runs in the first couple of innings was as worse of a start as anyone would have hoped for.

Pedro Feliciano balking in the winning run, was a fitting for this ominous day. It is these types of games that hopefully don’t give you a curse, leaving you pennant-less in your current stadium for years to come.
