And Then There Were 8;;; Gillespie's Gone: Coaching Round-A-Bout in the SEC?
From 64 to 32 and on to 16, we have gone. Now, we are cutting them all the way down to the “Elite 8″. Last night, Villanova and Missouri upset Duke and Memphis, respectively, taking a lot of brackets with them. If you’re team lost, your only hope in winning your bracket is if Arizona wins it all now. Good luck with that. Most people’s winners are still alive, but could go down tonight. Here’s the schedule:
7:07 PM ET – 1 Louisville vs. 12. Arizona
7:27 PM ET – 2 Oklahoma vs. 3 Syracuse
9:37 PM ET – 2 Michigan St. vs. 3. Kansas
9:57 PM ET – 1 North Carolina vs. 4 Gonzaga
Now the Breaking News:
Billy Gillispie fired as the University of Kentucky Head Basketball Coach
After just 2 seasons at the helm, Gillispie is going to have to watch someone else lead the team he put together(Meeks and Patterson). No doubt though, he will be coaching somewhere else. Arizona or Indiana?
So will Kentucky get who they wanted last time, Billy Donovan? That means that Florida would probably go with Missouri’s coach, VCU’s coach, or John Calipari at Memphis. All of this leaves Georgia and Alabama farther behind in the coaching search and most likely getting stuck with Bobby Knight’s old-crazy ass, or a no name coach from the NAIA. (Not really, but it will feel like it!)
