Your Daily Fug! A Preying Mantis Does High Fashion

Let me just start out by saying that I despise the word “fierce.” I consider it to be cliché, and obnoxious, and applied to people who dare not carry such a dramatic term. In the case of 48-year-old actress Tilda Swinton, however, it fits her perfectly.

This woman is fierce. If only because she looks like a preying mantis and an alien from outer space gave birth to a homo sapien look-a-like. Seen here in the Spring/Summer 2009 issue of Another Magazine, I find myself both intrigued and terrified by these photos.

High fashion scares me as is. I know it’s supposed to be art, but I like me the kind of art that I can relate to, not sh!t bricks if I were to stumble across it on acid.
