WTF?! McGruff The Crime Dog Gets Cold Cocked By Bus Driver

The latest in WTF?! news, a bus driver in Washington decided to cold cock McGruff the Crime Dog.  Talk about taking a bite out of crime!  This past weekend, McGruff was confronted by the bus driver and assaulted in front of a group of children the mascot had been talking to about crime and crime prevention.

According to MSNBC.com:

McGruff, who was actually District officer Tyrone Hardy in costume, was handing out fliers to kids in northwest Washington Saturday when bus driver Shawn Brim, 38, stopped, got out and adjusted his mirrors and then cold-cocked McGruff in the head with a closed fist, according to a police report.

Subsequent to the beat down, McGruff stumbled in front of the children, scaring them while Brim headed back to his bus and drove off.  Other officers on scene that witnessed the assault tracked down the bus driving bandit and arrested him.

District officer Hardy suffered a bruised cheek and ego, but was more concerned with the welfare of the children and how they may have been effected by watching the bus driver attack McGruff.  Brim stated that he hit the mascot “to be funny.”  I guess it is funny.  Beating up mascot idiots is always funny, losing your job over it is hilarious and getting charged with assault and probably having the local police all up in your business for years to come, that’s the best joke of all.
