PSP Has A New Design, Same Software

The new purported design for Sony's Play Station Portable.

A couple of days ago I said Sony was looking for software testers to give their new super secret “game machine” a run through.  Well, it turns out that the PSP is getting a total body overhaul.

Apparently, the PSP is getting a full aestetic change, including a sliding screen.  The information came from a highly trusted source that broke the news about the unannounced changes to the PSP to the video gaming site, VG247.

Although the PSP will have a complete aestetic redesign, internally it will be composited of the same PSP technology as the standard PSP, which begs to ask, would you pay for the new PSP if it kept the initial hardware?  It wasn’t exactly wonderful the first time around, so what makes them think that people want to invest in a gold covered turd?  It’s still a turd.

I have to admit, the redesign concept seems nice, but I can’t say it will be worth the money.  Will any of you waste your money on it, especially in these trying economic times?  It just seems like a lofty concept that will miss its target audience.

I still haven’t rescued the princess in Mario I, so this is definitely out ofthe quesiton

The PSP’s games were total disappointments in promise. All of the supposed power and depth and we get 16 bit-era game mechanics.
