Hank Aaron Steps in for Bud Selig; Changes History, Again?

Four days ago, the Atlanta-Journal Constitution reported that Bud Selig was considering changing record books in light of all of the recent evidence of Major League Baseball’s superstars steroid-doping. This would effectively strip Barry Bonds of the Home Run record, giving it back to Hank Aaron, who was finishing his career when baseball was just about to begin to go crazy on the juice. It would also bring in to question other athletes records, such as Roger Clemons and Jose Canseco.
The next day though, Hank stated, “In all fairness to everybody, I just don’t see how you really can do a thing like that and just say somebody isn’t the record holder anymore, and let’s go back to the way that it was.”
This type of class makes for one of the good things to come out of baseball in years. Hank has single-handedly made Bud Selig’s decision for him, setting a precedent to be used in baseball for this entire steroid fiasco, unless the government intervenes. (Hopefully they fix our economy, before our record books, but it’s apparently a free for all these days anyway.)
I know that my Mark McGuire and Barry Bonds baseball cards got discarded after the season they nearly both hit 70 bingers, but now, my whole stash is in danger, because you almost assume that they’ve all done it at some point in time. (I know this to not be true, but how can you tell who is, and who isn’t? Roid rage? Small balls? 70 Home runs? A bunch of Cy Youngs?)

I see where Hank is going with this, but there should still be a big mark next to their names about the ‘ROIDS!
