The Pro-Bowl is Making Moves

Sunday will be the end of an era for the Pro Bowl. After 30 years in Honolulu, the 2010 Pro Bowl game will be played in Miami. Furthermore, (and more consequentially), it will be played the week BEFORE the Super Bowl.

At first, the idea is offensive. Changing such a great tradition for what? Do they even know that more people will watch?

Plus, no one who is slated to play in the Super Bowl will be there. That means that voting is essentially rendered as a secondary method of picking Pro Bowl participants!

AND we get that one last fix of the football season! It lets us down instead of ending with a climatic Super Bowl. How are they supposed to ween us addicts off the stuff? NFL Network? Please…

BUT, if I were in charge of the Pro Bowl, would I move it? Yes. Here are the facts:

- More people are sure to watch the game when the season is not over yet. The football season ends at the Super Bowl for most people.

- More people will attend, with it being in Miami, meaning that offers for future Pro Bowls will be pushed higher.

- It will be a more exciting game, especially since the AFC & NFC will face off in an All-Star battle, BEFORE their respective champions do so.

It doesn’t matter what I think. And they’re not going to listen to you either, but I’m interested to hear your opinions, so let me know in the comments section.
