It has been a long recruiting season, filled with decommitments and out-of-state poaching surprises. Who ended up with the top class?

According to Rivals.com and Sports Illustrated, that distinction will belong to the Alabama Crimson Tide two years in a row. Nick Saban is earning his distinction as the “Most Powerful Coach”.

The SEC did well as a whole. Ten of its twelve schools made the top 25 list for recruiting. Some surprises were Mississippi State and Stanford’s classes, which both earned top 25 positions. For the list of top 25 recruiting classes, click here.

The big stories of this recruiting season revolved around coaching changes and surprise classes. Michigan’s recruiting has not gone anywhere, so look for Rich Rodriguez to have a young, fired-up team ready for next year.

It’s really too long of a recruiting season to try to sum it up here, but I can’t wait for next year!
