This Year's Academy Awards Are Pretty Sexy

The 2009 Academy Awards nominations were announced earlier today, and everyone is buzzing about “The Curious Case of Benjamin Button,” which walked away with 13 Oscar nods. “Slumdog Millionaire” followed with an extraordinary 10 nominations.

If you wanted my opinion on who was snubbed and who didn’t deserve the nomination, you have come to the wrong place. Who were the sexiest nominees, however… now that’s something we can definitely talk about!

Actor in a Supporting Role: Robert Downy, Jr. in “Tropic Thunder” – Have you ever seen his interview with that bearded tool over at Inside the Actor’s Studio? His manner of speaking makes me all kinds of moist.

Actor in a Supporting Role: Philip Seymour Hoffman in “Doubt” – PSH isn’t particularly attractive, physically speaking, but he’s so brilliant and talented that I’d be lying if I said I wouldn’t mind swapping DNA with him.

Actor in a Supporting Role: Heath Ledger in “The Dark Knight” - Heath reminds me of that boy us secretly liked in high school, but he was too cool for us, so we just longed after the “cool” boys because they were tools and much easier to get to. Then you find out after high school that that mysterious talent you longed for turned out to be really effing sexy, talented, and would totally have smoked a joint with you if you hadn’t been to chicken to ask.

Actress in a Leading Role: Anne Hathaway in “Rachel Getting Married” – Anne Hathaway has been a nice surprise to the world of acting and young talents. She was one of the few Disney stars who didn’t bullsh!t us with false claims of virginity. Anne did the respectable thing and kept her life private without being pretentious about it. Something tells me she’s a wild one when you know her on a personal level. Crazy, but reserved– I like that.

Actress in a Leading Role: Angelina Jolie in “The Changeling” - Because she played Gia way back in the day… and did it naked.

Actress in a Leading Role: Kate Winslet in “The Reader” - Toned MILF Kate Winslet has certainly gone up the sexiness rank since her “Titanic” days. Not only has she posed nude for the camera several times, but the fact that the character she’s nominated for is a woman who falls in love with a teenager, and then Kate defended her character?? She’s loca and I like it.

Actress in a Supporting Role: Penélope Cruz in “Vicky Cristina Barcelona” – Penélope Cruz sometimes gives me that Paris Hilton-wonk-face vibe, but for some reason the Spanish darling looks super hot in this movie. Maybe it’s the way she is smoking her cigarette in that screenshot; reminiscent of James Dean and his badass ways. Or maybe it’s because she had a threesome with ScarJo and Javier Bardem in the movie. I’m thinking it’s the latter.

Actress in a Supporting Role: Marisa Tomei in “The Wrestler” - Because Marisa played a naked stripper in “The Wrestler.” Oh, and because she was in “My Cousin Vinny.” That movie is timeless.
