Ron Artest Tapped To Talk To Kids About Mental Health, Are They Serious?

That’s like asking Tiger Woods to preach about the sanctity of marriage. Find out why in God’s name anyone would think this was a good idea after the jump.

California Congresswoman Grace F. Napolitano and Ron Artest will be heading to Eastmont Intermediate School this Thursday to talk to the kids about the Mental Health in Schools Act. While I’m always down for athletes who use their fame and fortune to help others, I think any parent would encourage Ron to keep the help to himself.

In case you aren’t familiar with the crazed awesomeness of Ron Artest allow me to recap some of his finer moments:

Ron went on to ‘Jimmy Kimmel’ with nothing but his boxers and a smile.

Ron thanks his therapist after winning the NBA championship.

Ron tweets “I’m in the process of seeing my therapist for random thoughts.”

And the mental instability continues. So I’m not entirely sure what sort of wisdom Ron could offer America’s youth, but I’m sure no matter what he says it’ll be interesting — and probably contribute to the corruption of a few dozen middle schoolers.
