Turkey Dislikes Fun And Apparently Cheerleaders Too

Turkey just made the world championship just that much more unexciting. Find out why they benched the luscious ladies of FIBA’s dance team after the jump.

The Red Foxes, a dance team from Ukraine, has been seen shaking what their mama gave them during the majority of games Group C teams have played. Unfortunately, the dancers have been asked to take their booty-popping, scantily-clad selves elsewhere when games are played in Turkey. Given the country’s large Muslim population, it doesn’t come as much of a shock that half-naked ladies gyrating on the court didn’t go over so well. While no one has fessed up to the dancers being pulled for political reasons, we really can’t find any other explanation for these lovely ladies being pushed to the side.

But before you cross the worlds off of your television line-up, just bare in mind that the Red Foxes will still perform at other games in Ankara. Thank you FIBA because for some strange reason watching Kevin Durant and Lamar Odom, while exciting, doesn’t exactly hit the same spot as the Red Foxes.
